For instance, Sameene will try to speak with and befriend all the PCs, trying to figure out which group she'd be most useful with. She clearly enjoys Kiph and Bilk vying for her company so shamelessly, but isn't just trying to flirt her way into the group.
Bit of general background that would become common knowledge: - She's from the merchant fleets, more specifically the Aurora Luna (largest fleet), in the Luna Nihilus Group (smallest/poorest group). - Sameene grew up in a coastal settlement with other half elves while her parents continued to serve on The Morning Glory, where she joined them once she came of age. A twenty some years later her parents died defending a boarding action from The Night Fleet. - She stayed with the fleet for twenty more years before leaving to find more lucrative work as a negotiator with merchant caravans (where she learned to speak Gnomish). - Her sorcery is combat ready (Shield/Magic Missile) but overall Enchantment Heavy (Friends/Charm/Suggestion) with some support (Clairvoyance/Counterspell)

From Gremulka:
The only conversation I can think is one Grem might have with Eskinder, trying to understand where he thinks she would be most useful. She's not into all the book learning stuff and the trip out to the island seems like a a lot of trouble for her and Futzy, if its more "researching' which she puts into air quotes, to show her disdain for such things.

Eskender says, "Don't think of it as research. Think of it as reconnaissance or scouting. Surely the tribes of the Great Grass Sea use scouts. We're tracking these alaterrae like wild game, only the trail is 900 years old, and the deer is an artifact of untold power, oh and there are other hunters who are undead monsters of untold power. Fuck, nevermind. My metaphor broke down."
"Look, this all certainly began as an interesting research for a friend, but we're now trapped in the sights of some fucking undead horrors. We need to damn well track these few starting points that we have, in the thin hopes we can draw out Cairn for The Horncrest to deal with. Other people can read books for what we need. The trip to Bacua Gara would benefit from a tracker or two, because I imagine you'll need to travel off the beaten path there to find many answers. The priesthood is very secretive."

The Ranger would probably like Sameene quite a bit, especially since she helped them with the Bilk-Cage.
They're obviously not very good at making conversation, but they're comfortable enough with the group at large and probably Eskender's people that they would attempt to talk with Sameene if she initiated it. They'd ask her if she's ever been up to Satu Amanar and also ask what it's like being on the ocean. They have been on a boat before possibly, but probably only briefly and it would be in whatever that inland sea/giant lake is near the city. Not really the same as the ocean. Hell, they've never even SEEN the ocean, for that matter.

They would probably also be a good source of gossip about at least Bilk if Sameene were trying to get information from someone. Kiph obviously they barely know.

"Undead, ugh. Give me the creeps." "Priests are secretive because they are scared of people finding they are all virgins." "Also, total bummer with Kiph spilling the beans on being the W-word. I mean, talk about lacking description, amirite? Anyway, if you want me to silence your assistants, you know...permanently (makes chicken neck breaking motion) I'm there for you." (winks) Gremulka is suspicious of new people, naturally, and Sameene is probably smart, whereas Gremulka is not. However, she is a woman, and if Sameene wants to connect over that, or wants a tatoo, she can connect with Grem on that. In addition, Gremulka does her first tattoo on herself. A small worg, done in this style: It is on her left thigh, near the knee, and represents the flight from the Tacu Norn, the fight against the winter wolves, and subduing Futzy.

Ranger:
- Sameene would definitely talk to the Ranger more. She's been to pretty much all the coastlines along the ocean, but never to Satu Amanar up north. In fact, she's never been further north than Beresti Pass (mountain pass by Campia Nistor), mostly staying with indep merchants in a triangle from Galatia to Campia Nistor to the Kingdom. She imagines Satu Amanar is not a very enjoyable place to live.
- She'll do her best to describe the ocean: "An endless plain of windblown waves in every direction. Nothing on the horizon but freedom and danger. The wind is your greatest ally and your worst enemy. The crew is a family, quite literally most times, and there's no hiding anything from them. No such thing as privacy on ship, not really, even for the officers.”
- Sameene never asks directly, but clearly wonders about the Ranger’s gender.
- She’d certainly like any gossip about the other PCs to help her fit in faster, be it the loud ones (Bilk & Kiph) or the more inscrutable ones (Stanica & Gremulka).

Gremulka,
- Eskender asks that you please not kill his apprentices just yet, but he'll you know if he changes his mind.
- Sameene will attempt to connect with Gremulka as perhaps the only other woman in the group. She'll be open about her own history or abilities, and generally straightforward asking about group dynamics, who works well together, who doesn't, so she can avoid starting arguments by accident.

The ocean sounds like the WORST PLACE EVER to the Ranger. No privacy, you're completely at the mercy of the weather (even more so than usual), and everyone is "family" which is not honestly a word that has very positive connotations for the Ranger. They visibly seem to regret asking about it, because now this new part of the journey is a source of some trepidation. They're not usually afraid of new things, but this is so far out of the realm of experience for them that they're beginning to wonder if they will be a hindrance to the group. Also, they probably can't swim, since falling in the water up at Satu Amanar is a death sentence from hypothermia in the winter and still a serious risk in the summer.
On the other hand, the Ranger would probably wax poetic - at least compared to their usual minimalist mode of speaking - about how beautiful the mountains around Satu Amanar are. And the city itself of course has its charm. They acknowledge that it has seen better days, but it was still once the seat of a great empire and that grandeur still remains, even if it is diminished. It's pretty obvious that the Ranger is feeling homesick but also wants to see this mission through to the end.
Sameene's obvious curiosity (and probably occasional verbal stumble over pronouns, which never get corrected one way or another) is blithely ignored. The Ranger is used to it. If she were to ever directly ask the answer is a shrug and a reluctant "Neither". She might get the sense that the Ranger has a crush on her, but they're never overt about it like Kiph or Bilk and it's difficult to get a read on more subtle emotions from them anyway. It mostly just takes the form of the Ranger going out of their way to be especially helpful and friendly.
They would probably warn her that if Bilk and Stanica are in the same group, it's imperative that they be kept separate and Stanica not be allowed to murder Bilk in a fit of Viking Feels. Gremulka is given glowing praise for her prowess in battle and general character, with the caveat that she tends to be impulsive and you have to be prepared for that. Bilk gets a mostly positive review as well, though it comes with a warning that he's not always trustworthy. He's never let them down in battle (well, except for the time where he turned into a were-rat and tried to kill everyone but that problem is getting fixed so it's fine) and that sort of reliability is important. Stanica gets a significantly less positive review, though they clearly respect his abilities. Everyone else would be regarded fairly neutrally. They find Thiabor's world view to be strange and The Grey One is baffling but generally kind and that's always important.
