So here is my current dilemmas with scheduling for the game, and then my current solution.
Problem 1: - Kelsey cannot play on Thursday nights until about 10pm. - Tom cannot play on Tuesday nights 50% of the time (every other week). - So it seems I have to choose between Kelsey missing half of every session or Tom missing half of all sessions.
Problem 2: - Even if the website can handle all 9 of us (8 players + me) online at the same time, 9 people cannot carry on simultaneous conversations on the site as easily as they can around a table. It seems likely only one person can talk at a time without feedback/problems/etc.
Proposed Solution: - I run the first couple of game sessions on Tuesday nights when Tom is available, thereby gaining all players. - After those initial sessions wherein all the characters meet each other and form relationships, I split the party. - One group (with Kelsey in it) plays on Tuesday nights, while the other group (with Tom in it) plays on Thursday nights. - As determined by the story line of the campaign, player-character choices, and real life player needs, we change the make up of the two groups every so often, so that it still feels like one larger campaign instead of two smaller games.
Thoughts?

I vote yes on this, but only with the caveat that it doesn't make too much work for you, since you will be essentially running two games.

I agree with Nick on that.

Plus, this gives an excuse to have to do a live game in person where everyone gets together (road trip!)

I have a feeling that we're going to have a really hard time to get 9 people free at the same time every week anyway.

I think this could even work to your benefit John. With the mix of characters that we have we can easily split our forces without sacrificing in any one area. This could allow for more ease in placing a NPC in the party without over powering us and as scheduling conflicts come up we can work into the story that a character has to join the other party for a time so that no one is missing too many sessions. As long as this is doable by John, I am down.

Sorry, because I read on my phone there was no poll. I figured out how to access the non-mobile site and vote now. I think this solution will be great for world-building and increased epicness of scope.

This sounds like a great idea! I'm all for it, so long as you feel like you can swing it, John.

I am fine with this solution, although the app I use can't seem to handle the poll

What is the app you're using. I downloaded that "tapatalk" app that it links you to if it opens on mobile, but this forum doesn't show up on it.

Okay then, let's give this a try.
Tom, since the first couple of sessions will be based on your Tuesdays, when is the next one you can do? 2nd? 9th?

I assume Jeff is using the same app as I am, which is the Proboards app.
